In this article on biodigester construction in Ghana, I have two key observations for you to consider when constructing a biodigester.
The first is that, because the technology of using biodegradable waste biodigesters as a sustainable means of managing human waste is new to most plumbers, they typically lay the pipes with the expectation of building a septic tank.
This is usually the case because it is a holding tank, and the constructor can go as much as 20 feet below the ground. So it doesn’t matter if they lay the pipes and then bury them up to 3 feet; there will still be enough space for the wastewater and then the human waste to be stored until it’s time to be dislodged.
So if you plan to install a biodigester for your dream house, one of the first things you should do is contact a biodigester construction expert and have him meet with the plumber to all agree on the location of the pipes and the minimum or maximum amount of slope that should be allowed.

The second is that if the water table is very high, it indicates that you will have an issue soon, so one of the things I always tell homeowners is to get a biodigester team in, let them all work on it, and if possible, let the digester team construct or install their biodigester first and then leave the pipe there so that they can pick the slope, and then when the plumber comes, he knows the level that he is coming to meet.
The most important thing here is that you do not dig the ground for the biodigester installation without first contacting a biodigester expert and that it is best to delegate all excavating, measurements, and other tasks to the contractor who will be performing the construction.
